Welcome to the website of the Chinese Psychological Society
The Chinese Psychological Society (CPS), as one of the earliest established academic societies in China, was founded in 1921. Since becoming a member of the International Union of Psychological Science in 1980, the CPS has been taking an active part in the international arena.
At present, the CPS has 15 professional committees that cover a wide range of specialties, including General and Experimental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Medical Psychology, Military Psychology, Personality Psychology, Physiological Psychology, Psychological Measurement, School Psychology, Social Psychology, Sports Psychology, Theory in Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Counseling Psychology.
The main purposes of the CPS is to unite members across the country, promote scientific research and organize academic activities.
1921 Founded Chinese Psychological Society
1922 Published the first issue of Chinese Psychological Journal
1935 Developed draft constitution of CPS
1955 Formally Reestablished Chinese Psychological Society in Beijing
1980 Became a member of International Union of Psychological Sciences (IUPsyS)
1993 Issued the first Ethic Codes for Psychological Assessment
2004 Successfully held the International Congress of Psychology in Beijing, China |
